Ripples moved out from the center, driving the eyes away from the impact, but it was the impact that was important. The ripples were a distraction, a way of trying to avoid how key the impact was. The impact tried to disappear while the ripples moved, but it could not fully take away the memory of the hole it created when it happened. Soon the ripples would disappear, too, as if the impact never happened. That was why it was crucial to not be distracted by the ripples.
